Katerina Poulou

Dr. Katerina Poulou, vascular surgeon, was born and raised in Corfu. She is the co-founder of the specialized polyclinic Kardia & Aggeia – K&A Heart and Vascular, based in Chalandri, Athens, while also maintaining a private practice in her hometown of Corfu. Additionally, she serves as a consultant vascular surgeon at Euroclinic in Athens. She earned her medical degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and completed her rural medical service at the Hospital and Health Center of Kalavryta in the Achaia region. She specialized in General Surgery at Thriassio General Hospital before completing her training in Vascular Surgery at the Vascular Surgery Clinic of the University Hospital Attikon in Athens. Dr. Poulou has pursued further training internationally. She trained at Johannesburg Charlotte Maxeke University Hospital in South Africa, renowned for its expertise in vascular trauma. Additionally, she gained experience in endovascular techniques at Tucson Medical Center and Pima Vascular Clinic in Arizona, USA. She holds a master's degree in Endovascular Techniques from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in collaboration with Bicocca University of Milan, Italy. Her thesis focused on the placement of stents in deep vein thrombosis of the lower limbs. Dr. Poulou is certified in vascular ultrasound by the Ministry of Health and in Phlebology by the European College of Phlebology. She has also received specialized training in lymphedema and lipedema at LymphOpt Clinic in Germany. Beyond her clinical work, she has been actively involved in public health as a member of the National Public Health Organization (EODY). She also holds a master's degree in Crisis Management in the Health Sector, with an emphasis on leadership and soft skills in the information age.

She has presented at both Greek and international medical conferences and has authored scientific publications in vascular surgery. Her contributions to the field have been recognized with an award from the International Union of Angiology.

Dr. Poulou is a member of several professional societies, including the Hellenic Society for Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, the Hellenic Angiology Society, the Hellenic Phlebology Society, and the European Society for Vascular Surgery. She is also a member of the International Hippocratic Foundation of Kos, dedicated to promoting and preserving Hippocratic Medicine.
